Absence in the city of Lahore is something I find fascinating and paradoxical. A dimly lit corner of a plaza or a winding road covered with old trees has a certain magnetism to it. These empty spaces capture you and don’t allow you to leave; the only thing you want to do is dwell in them and explore. Absence is a rarity in an overcrowded city of over 12 million people. Lahore is my birthplace and I have a deep sense of nostalgia with it. I’ve made a collection of empty spaces in Lahore in the form of photographs and postcards.
