Small sticker breakdown. I tried adding in small things to really push the detail level like glue residue under the ripped parts, slight fade on the edges, and general wear.

I added dummy layers on which I built my masks and reused them with anchor points. This allowed my main paint mask to be cleaner and less cluttered.

Handie Talkie

The AN/PRC-6 "Handie Talkie" was a radio set used through the Korean and Vietnam wars. I wanted to make a hero asset while still staying game ready. 60,759 vets / 121,093 tris, two 4K texture sets. Things such as notches on knobs are baked down but I paid special attention to edges and made sure there would be zero faceting.

I got interested in texturing worn metal after watching Jason Ord's video about texturing on Artstation Learning. This project was an exercise in exploring that aspect. I found his video helpful--mainly in how to raise the edges around chips. That was a starting point; after that I started my exploration into adding and building details.

You most likely won't find a reference of a PRC-6 radio with this type of wear. I wanted to explore peeling and rusting paint and take it to such a level where the radio would look as if it was based off a reference and not just my imagination.

Thanks to the guys over on Discord for their help and feedback.
